For extended care outside of the regular out-of-school care hours (see above) the rate is € 10,- per half hour. Oya’s Childcare also offers the possibility to request a day change at no extra charge (subject to availability).
The Dutch government provides an allowance to help parents who are working, or studying, cover the costs of childcare delivered by a registered childcare organization. Registered childcare centers—such as Oya’s Childcare —are inspected annually to make sure they meet the quality standards required under the Dutch Childcare Act.
The childcare benefit is given in the form of a tax refund. Eligibility and the level of reimbursement depend on the total family income and several other factors. For example, single parents must be in paid employment or participating in training/study in order to receive a childcare allowance. In two-parent families, this requirement applies to both parents.
Parents who are studying, taking part in a work orientation program, or following an integration course (for foreigners living in the Netherlands) accumulate subsidized hours of professional childcare.
For more information about the childcare benefit, see the Tax Department’s website: http://www.toeslagen.nl.
The Dutch Childcare Act (2010) regulates the quality, financing and surveillance of childcare in the Netherlands. Childcare providers are required to deliver care that contributes to the personal and physical development of the child in a safe and healthy environment. The Act defines the quality standards with which childcare providers must comply, setting minimum requirements for:
Oya’s Childcare always strives for a quality level that is higher than these requirements.
All childcare providers must be listed in the National Childcare Registry (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang en Peuterspeelzalen or LRKP) and are inspected annually by the council health service (gemeentelijke gezondheidsdienst or GGD), which determines whether the required standards are being met.
Childcare centers are required to keep copies of these inspection reports in-house for anyone to look through on request.

If you feel that the staff is not dealing with your complaint in a satisfactory manner you can send a formal complaint to the management of Oya’s Childcare to info@oyas.nl. Oya’s Childcare has an internal complaint procedure to deal with complaints received. This procedure describes how we deal with and register complaints from parents. The written complaint procedure document can be viewed by parents at Oya’s Childcare offices.
If despite the above the internal complaint procedure is not dealt with in a satisfactory manner parents can then seek information, advice, and mediation at Klachtloket Kinderopvang at www.klachtenloket-kinderopvang.nl. Parents can also register their complaint at the Geschillencommissie at www.degeschillencommissie.nl.
In some exceptional situations, complaints can be brought directly to the Geschillencommissie. Their procedure can be found on www.degeschillencommissie.nl/over-ons/commissies/kinderopvang/.
Below you will find the complaints clearance letters from the Disputes Committee for previous years.
In previous years parents could turn to Stichting Klachtencommissie Kinderopvang (sKK) for the external complaint procedure. In 2014 the sKK has not received any complaints from parents or the parents’ committee. Please find below the Complaints Free Letters from the sKK as well as our Annual complaints reports for 2014 and 2015 (all in Dutch):
